The free to attend digital session will feature three experts from HKA and will close with an audience Q&A session

The session will share an overview of escalating regional developments, how disruptions such as the Strait of Hormuz closure, missile/drone activity are affecting building and infrastructure projects today, the operational and commercial implications for employers and contractors, and much more.

“Developments across the Middle East are now starting to affect major construction and energy projects in real time, and we’re seeing disruption to shipping routes due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, missile and drone activity affecting critical infrastructure, and in some cases, project teams having to suspend works or demobilise due to site safety concerns,” said Haroon Niazi, Partner, Construction, Claims and Expert Services Lead, EMEA at HKA.

“In our live podcast session, I’ll be joined by HKA experts Dr. Franco Mastrandrea and Derek Nelson as we look to explore what this means for projects in the region, from disruption and delay today, to the importance of capturing the right records now to support potential claims later. We’ll also look at the issues both from an employer and contractor’s perspective, and there’ll be a great opportunity for some live question and answers.”

The 2026 edition of the Value Engineering Summit, which is scheduled to take place on 15 April, will also focus on this topic, in addition to the implications of Dubai’s new law on building quality and safety and the implications for developers and construction companies, choosing the right partners for optimal project delivery, technology and industrialised construction and the impact it can have on quality and fast-tracked projects and more. This event will take place at the H Hotel in Dubai, registration is complementary for industry professionals. Click here to check out the agenda.
