The editorial team at Middle East Consultant (MEC) has confirmed that nominations for the 2025 edition of the Middle East Consultant Awards (MEC Awards) will close on 20 October 2025. The MEC team also said that the 2025 edition has evolved and now includes new categories, new category criteria, and a new nomination process.
Once nominations close, all the entries will first be studied by the MEC editorial team, with the strongest nominations moving into a second round of eliminations, which will be conducted by an independent panel of industry personalities. An in-person meeting of the judges will take place sometime in November, following which a shortlist of nominations will be published. The gala dinner event is scheduled to take place at the Ritz Carlton JBR, Dubai on 9 December.
The editorial team also said that the 2025 edition of the MEC Awards will be overseen by Head of Content Jason Saundalkar, who managed the MEC brand between 2017-to-2021, and also currently leads the Big Project Middle East brand at CPI Trade Media.
“It’s great to work on the MEC Awards once again, and I look forward to taking this edition to the next level. For 2025, I’ve worked with the MEC team to institute a significant number of updates including: several all-new categories, new nomination criteria and category pre-requisites, and an all-new nomination process that calls for sharper and more concise nominations,” said Saundalkar.

“I encourage everyone to watch the new Step-by-Step Nomination Guide’ video (accessible at the bottom of the nomination guidelines page on the website), which outlines the new nomination form, the information you need to compile, word counts etc. As there are new categories, new category criteria and pre-requisites, I highly recommend taking the time to look at each category’s description in detail before preparing your nominations, so you can decide on which categories are of interest, and can put together a comprehensive nomination,” he added.
As before, categories are broken down into distinct groups including: Company, Individual and Project. New categories include: Fire Safety Consultant of the Year; Acoustic Consultant of the Year; Environmental Consultancy of the Year; Outstanding Debut and others. All-in-all, there are 26 categories that are open for nominations – check out the full list here.
